Who is She

She has kids so she's a mother

She's a wife so she's a lover

She writes rhymes so maybe she's a poet

Is she an advocate because she voted?

Is she a hero because she's married to a solider?

Maybe she's a star but just doesn't know it

Maybe she's really a jerk but chooses not to show it

Should she toss all her titles into a hat

Or should she just grab ahold of one and become consumed with that

But who told her she had to choose?

Who told her she has to pick one title

and the rest of her identity she had to loose

Who told her this lie?

Maybe it was the same person who told her she was naked

I'm pretty sure it was that guy.

What if I told you you were simply HER

and that she was created to be many things

and becoming a Christian doesn't mean she sold all her dreams

But what did it mean?

I wish I could answer just this one thing

But it's up to her to decide exactly who she'll be

She can be a wife and a mother, a sister and a lover,

a poet and an artist, a friend and a business starter

Her relationship with God wasn't meant to stop HER

but embracing his love would only take her farther

But how does she undo the lie

How does she disconnect from the voices of that Guy

I can't tell you a lot of things but I can tell you this

She will no longer be defined by Satan and his tricks
